Sleds, shovels selling fast | Business
There are two winter rites of passage for people in snowier areas than the Mid-South - shoveling and sledding.
If you’re interested in taking part in either of these activities, you need to act fast. Because while the Action News 5 Storm Tracking Team says the snow isn’t going away anytime soon, you might have a hard time finding either a sled or a snow shovel.
The staff at Germantown Hardware says the store doesn’t have either in stock. A clerk says the shop sold all 500 of its sleds since they came in on Wednesday. The same is true for Whitten Brothers, 2909 Park Ave., and Matthews Hardware, 4324 South Third St.
Meanwhile, if you want to let the snow pile up on the driveway and sidewalks, you can head over to Colonial Hardware, 6140 Macon Rd. But you better hurry, because the store only has a single sled left in stock.
While Hubbards Millbranch Hardware, 4708 Millbranch Rd., has snow shovels in stock. The store only has three sleds left.
There are at least two locally owned stores that still have both in stock. Stewart Brothers, 1340 Madison Ave., and Roy Goode Hardware, 1172 Lamar Ave., have sleds and shovels.
