BET comes to Mid-South to find nation’s greatest singer

(WMC-TV) – If you think you’re the Mid-South’s best singer, BET has a big challenge for you.

The network is bringing its BET Awards Next Big Music Star Mobile Tour to Memphis this weekend.

To enter, aspiring contestants will need to register on the tour’s Facebook page and attend the event. There, they will sing a capella in front of a judge for a chance to record a track in the deluxe mobile recording studio. After all of the winners in each city have recorded in the studio, a grand-prize winner will be selected by BET judges and through online fan voting. The grand-prize winner will attend the BET 2012 Awards Show and get a chance to appear on the 106 and Park pre-show.

The tour is heading to Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Atlanta and Houston, in addition to Memphis.

The competition will run from 11 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, at Mud Island River Park.
