Police search for man accused of attacking witness | Crime
A 21-year-old man from Whitehaven is accused of attacking someone who testified against him during a robbery trial. According to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, he then punched that victim in the face and beat him with the handle of a knife before stabbing him and running away.
Deputies are now searching for Marcus Dotson, who should not be hard to spot in a crowd. He has several tattoos on his face and neck.
Dotson is accused of approaching a case witness at the Cheddars restaurant where the victim works and said, "So you testified against me?" Dotson was allegedly referring to a 2010 robbery case, in which the victim testified against him three years later.
He then allegedly punched the victim, grabbed a knife, and began hitting him with the wooden handle part of the knife. Deputies say he then turned the knife around and began to stab the victim.
Customers in the restaurant broke up the fight and Dotson ran away.
Marcus Dotson is wanted for aggravated assault and retaliation against a witness.
