Accused purse snatcher gets away with $3,900 | Crime

(WMC-TV) – A couple is in jail after they were charged with attacking a woman and stealing her purse which contained nearly $4,000 in cash Wednesday.

The victim told officers she was heading to Tippy’s Laundry Mat, 1064 W. Raines Rd., when a man jumped out of a car, attacked her and took off with her purse and the cash inside.

A witness was able to identify the woman’s accused attacker as Brandon Harris.

Police eventually found Harris and Amanda Fortuna, the alleged getaway driver, in the 900 block of Evers.

Court records didn’t indicate if the victim’s purse, or the $3,900 it contained, were recovered.

Fortuna and Harris are both currently behind bars.
