Food fight lands Memphis father in jail | Crime
(WMC-TV) – An altercation prompted by a demand for a snack landed a hungry man in jail over the weekend, according to police.
Cleveland Avent told his wife to fix him food, according to court records. Instead of preparing a meal, police say the pair started arguing, Avent ended up swiping food from one of his daughters.
Things escalated from there, according to police.
Avent punched one daughter, choked another and eventually bit his wife on the arm, investigators said.
Police were called to the home in the 3700 block of Brompton Road and arrested the 59-year-old.
Avent has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault.
