Man charged with security guard's murder | Crime

(WMC-TV) - Police say they've arrested the man who gunned down a security guard and left him for dead in a parking lot last month.

Montrel Davis has been charged with first degree murder for the shooting death of Richard Holmes on July 20.

Holmes and a fellow security guard were clearing the parking lot at 3237 Winchester Rd. around 3 a.m. when the shooting happened. The parking lot is shared between a nightclub and several other businesses.

The second guard told police that Davis began arguing with Holmes and then opened fire, according to court records.

A witness also told police she was leaving the nightclub and watched as Davis shot Holmes and then sped away in a gold car.
