Graceland celebrates 30th anniversary of tours | News
(WMC-TV) – Memphis is known for its barbecue and for Beale Street, but Graceland probably brings more visitors to the city than any other tourist attraction and the famous house is celebrating a big anniversary this week.
Graceland will celebrate the 30th anniversary of public tours of Elvis’ former home on June 7.
Officials with Elvis Presley Enterprises says that an average of 600,000 people visit Graceland each year. Twenty percent of those are from foreign countries and only one percent are from Memphis.
Meanwhile, workers at the historic house are getting ready to celebrate Graceland’s 18 millionth visitor in the coming weeks.
