County working with parents who owe child support | News
(WMC-TV) - Parents behind on child support payments can get back on track during a special event later this week.
Parents facing jail time because they owe child support can pay $500 and avoid arrest.
According to the Shelby County Child Support Services office, 43 percent of parents in the county who are supposed to pay child support aren't paying on a consistent basis.
In addition to making arrangements to pay child support, the event will also feature information how to find stable jobs, counseling and visitation.
The event will be held at the Whitehaven Community Center, 4318 Graceland, on Saturday, July 21, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
