Their hard work and determination on the football field continues to pay off for the Whitehaven High School football team.
Friday the Tigers were presented with the Army National Guard national ranking trophy as part of the eighth annual MaxPreps Football Tour of Champions.
Back in December, the Tigers pulled of a one-point, dramatic win against Maryville to clinch their first 6-A state championship. The Tigers had to snap Maryville's 43-game winning streak to bring home the title.
"Just a start," said coach Rodney Saulsberry.
Whitehaven is one of 50 schools being honored on this season's Football Tour of Champions.
